Students at The Learning Spectrum had a chance to share their talents, create works of art, play games and support their peers at the first annual Winterfest.

Winterfest was held on Friday, December 16 at Vineyard Church, 6000 Cooper Road in Westerville.

The program began at 6 p.m. and was jam-packed full of lively performances by students at all of The Learning Spectrum’s locations, the drama students, and our very own Aaron Lopez. They sang holiday songs individually and in groups, displayed their art projects, and were even visited by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Winterfest was a vision of Jill Medley, The Learning Spectrum’s Executive Director. It was organized by the Creative Arts and Wellness Team, a group of TLS staff members that works with children on the spectrum, their peers, parents and the education team to encourage growth based on individual learning styles. They organize engaging experiences that are focused on the whole child and his or her individual interests.

TLS would like to thank the Vineyard Church and Luke Bauman for allowing us to use their space, and to the parents and teachers who supported the students. A special thank you to our two student emcees Cameron Abbot and Gavin Adams.

Thanks to the cookie bakers, art students, musicians, singers and actors, craft attendants, set-up and clean-up crews, helper siblings, and everyone who came together to make Winterfest possible.
