On June 30, Ohio Governor John Kasich signed a state bill into law that increases the funding cap for Autism Scholarships to $27,000.

The increase will go into effect for the 2015-2016 school year.

All of us at TLS are excited about the opportunities this increase gives our students. Not only does this eliminate the out of pocket expense for our families, it also gives them additional funds for services they may not have been able to get before for their children.

Families may choose to use the additional funds for speech or occupational therapies, music therapies or summer camp.

These therapies at TLS allow for further intervention in the centers and in our students’ inclusive settings. They help enhance our students’ development, promote sensory processing and increase overall self-care.
