The Learning Spectrum (TLS) and families enjoyed a fun morning at the Leeds Farm Autism Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 17! The event was free to children and adults with autism, including their immediate family and grandparents.
TLS was an event sponsor, helping to provide water and healthy snacks to families.
Autism service providers, including TLS, set up display tables in the north barn and shared information about school programs, employment services, housing therapies and classes for individuals with autism. TLS’s display table featured live karaoke with our music therapists, and Milo, the interactive robot, which was a huge hit with the children.
Families from our Central, Sunbury and Canal locations attended the festival, along with many other families from the community. They enjoyed the barnyard and play barn activities, such as hayrides, feeding farm animals, two pumpkin jumps, a John Deere Titan II combine slide, a farm pond, mountain slides, big and mini zip lines, rolling tubes, straw forts, pedal cars, and thousands of pumpkins and gourds grown right on the farm.
Leeds Farm is located at 8738 State Route 36 in Ostrander. The farm is celebrating its 22nd year.
TLS thanks all of our families, students and staff who supported and attended the festival! It was a lot of fun for everyone, and a great way to educate our community on the services we offer. Here are a few pictures from the festival:
