We are excited to announce that TLS just launched a YouTube Channel! With our YouTube Channel, we hope to bring a variety of content like sharing autism awareness in our community, parent resources, showcasing each TLS school (Worthington, Johnstown, Canal Winchester), news, events and so much more.
Currently, the TLS YouTube channel has some resources for parents about AAC communication devices. An augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) device, is a tablet or laptop that helps someone with a speech or language impairment to communicate. The term AAC device is often used interchangeably with terms like speech-generating device (SGD) or assistive communication device or simply communication device.
Liz Fonzi M.A., CCC-SLP Therapy Clinical Supervisor and Carrie Berghoff M.A., CCC-SLP dedicated their knowledge and time to create short videos for those who would like to learn more (or be refreshed) with operating and programming their child’s device. For parents who may not have a device but instead utilize PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), there is a video explaining how to use this resources as well!
Please check out of YouTube page to see these resources, and subscribe to stay up-to-date with our videos.
