Board Certified Behavior Analyst BCBA: Job Description

In fulfilling these responsibilities, this individual will model behavior that supports TLS mission of “to serve, with excellence, children with autism and related special needs, in their natural environment. To educate the whole child through a multi-disciplinary approach that meets each child’s individual needs and facilitates the highest level of success”.

The employee can expect to…

  • Provide direct ABA therapy to children with Autism and other developmental disorders in the clinic (case management)
  • Provide parent, teacher, and staff training on the principles of ABA and behavior modification
  • Provide training and required supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
  • Manage the scheduling of RBT and Behavior Therapist (BT) sessions
  • Conduct parent meetings to report on client progress towards goals
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments/analyses
  • Conduct verbal behavior/language assessments (ex. VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, Vineland, etc..)
  • Develop individualized treatment plans (e.g., goals, objectives, and interventions) and monitor client progress towards ACE goals
  • Oversees the implementation of behavior programs by RBTs and BTs
  • Consult and collaborate with client’s schools, daycares, medical professionals, and/or other pediatric disciplines on an as needed basis
  • Assist with administrative tasks and oversight of the ABA department (including appointment creation in billing system, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements for session notes, treatment plans, supervision, treatment authorizations, RBT requirements, etc.)
  • Collect, review and analyze data in order to provide a variety of reports for the purpose of, but not limited to, documenting case history, assessments, and treatment.
  • Provide consultation regarding behavior management, effective education and assessment of behavioral needs of students
  • Collaborate and provide support/training to TLS staff on behavioral strategies for ABA clients in the classroom setting
  • Travel to and from all TLS sites as scheduled or on an as needed basis

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma. 4-year degree in related field preferred
    • Current BCBA and COBA Credentials
  • The ability to establish positive relationships with co-workers and parents and students.
    •  Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills
  • Must be able to handle emotionally charged situations.
  • Has the ability to train other people to apply behavior management techniques effectively.

Physical Demands:

  • Must have the physical ability to intervene with students’ physical behaviors.
  • Must have the ability to transport and physically support students needed for safety purposes.
