This year’s Autism Awareness Month has been a fun, memorable and busy time for all of us at The Learning Spectrum! Thank you to everyone who participated in our many events, and for helping to increase awareness of autism in our community.

Here is a recap of some of the events that took place at and around TLS this month!

Outrun Autism 5K– Team TLS participated in the Make it Fit Foundation’s Outrun Autism on April 23. This was their third annual run, and it was held at Westerville’s Alum Creek Park North.

Channel 4’s Autism Puzzle– During this special on NBC4, Sam Angelas and Brynne Artim participated in the phone bank and Facebook live, providing professional advice to the community.

Daytime Columbus – Jill Medley, TLS student Asher Pace and Asher’s mom, Trew, were interviewed on Channel 4’s Daytime Columbus on April 19. You can watch the interview here.

Spirit Week – The first week in April, we had designated dress up days to show our spirit and support of each other.

Staff Team Building Event – On April 7, TLS staff members participated in a team-building event at Hard Knocks, working together to accomplish sophisticated combat missions! We had a great time!

Spring Fling Dance – Students got to relax and unwind at our Spring Fling dance on April 15.

Photo Shoot – TLS joined the JoseArieldiaz4Autism Awareness Campaign on Instagram by holding a photo shoot on April 13. The photo shoot was open to families, staff, children and adults. We had lots of fun being photographed with paint, temporary tattoos and glitter!

Thanks again for your help and support!
