Occupational Therapist Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the director, the staff occupational therapist functions with
limited supervision and is responsible for evaluation and treatment of clients,
documentation and communication of evaluation and treatment results, client and
caregiver education, appropriate use of client and professional related materials,
presentation to staff, and program development, as assigned. Occupational Therapy
assistants are responsible for the above, with the exception of evaluations, and are
responsible for reporting to and performing under the direct supervision of their
supervising OTR.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree or master’s equivalent in occupational therapy from an accredited university
Experience:
One year of prior experience in pediatrics and/or treatment of persons on the Autism Spectrum preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Licensure/Certification:
• Must possess state of Ohio license and current board certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of occupational therapy
and the ability to apply them in treatment programs
• Demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise written and oral reports
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient and facility confidentiality
• Has met competency standards for designated procedures and client populations
Major Job Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and treat clients with fine motor disorders, sensory integration
dysfunction, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and various developmental disabilities
in individual and group formats
• Design and implement relevant group therapy formats
• Collaborate and consult with therapy department staff to provide co-disciplinary
and interdisciplinary treatment
• Provide consultative services classroom teachers and support staff
• Write and implement sensory diets in coordination with client team
• Follow practice policies and procedures for completing all required billing and
clinical documentation
• Manage own schedule and coordination of therapy services with family and client
team
• Participate in treatment teams, IEP/ETR meetings, client and family team
meetings, and departmental meetings
• Provide in-service training for other disciplines
• Participate in program development activities for OT and therapy department
• Communicate in a professional and articulate manner with parents of clients and
other professionals in regards client needs

Pay: starting at $55,000
