ABC Basics and Beyond

This 1 1/2 hour class will focus on reading, phonics, and handwriting. We will be using Handwriting Without Tears, The Phonics Dance, The Letter People, and Brain Gym activities to help your child expand on the skills learned in ABC Basics.  They will review the twenty-six sounds already learned, as well as begin learning short and long vowel sounds.  We will also begin introducing the concept of hunking and chunking and will be developing word walls as a group.  These multi-sensory techniques incorporate motor, music and sensory activities to help children with processing disorders master skills associated with reading and writing.
