Peer play groups are social
groups structured around an individual child's interests, personality and needs. Using the Integrated Play Model, groups focus on building language, symbolic
and social skills. Trained play guides facilitate social opportunities and help
peers better understand and interact with their friends on the autism spectrum.
Play is designed to provide the child with internally
motivating activities and peer interactions to lessen dependence on adult
facilitation. Peer play groups are designed to provide a haven for children to
create genuine play worlds together where they may reach their social and
imaginative potential, as well as have fun and make friends.
Cost: Peer
Play groups are $250 for 6 weeks with report at end of the session. Expert players participate
at no cost.
